2007 Ford Ranger Wildtrak

Car-reviews / Topspeed

Spicy colours, extra equipment and a new engine for Ford’s Ranger Wildtrak will make this a special edition not to be missed at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show. Already known for strong pulling power and car-like comfort, the new Ranger Wildtrak adds further style and capabilities to the range.

This latest model has rear box rail extensions, a stylish, aerodynamic sports bar, lower sports cladding and tail lamp protectors to enhance its appearance. Side intake ’gills’ add to the visual effect. New integrated door mirror indicators and puddle lamps provide additional differentiation and Wildtrak decals on the front, side and rear identify it as a special Ford Ranger.

Combined with these stylish features are new alloy wheels, a new sports front grille, side steps, an aluminium style front over rider and roof rails, an integrated bedliner and a rear protection bar with integrated park distance control.

The cabin features all-new heated seats in leather and perforated alcantara with orange tricot backing, floor mats with Wildtrak logo, new sports steering wheel, dash-mounted off-road ’information centre’, premium interior and footwell lighting. New Wildtrak scuff plates complete the package.

The Ford Ranger Wildtrak is available with an exclusive range of unique two-tone colours: Chilli Orange or Passion Red combined with Titanium Grey on the lower part of the body for a truly striking appearance. Other body colours that can be combined with Titanium Grey are Steel Silver, Andaman Blue, Storm Black and Strato Blue.

Under the bonnet is a new and powerful 3.0-litre TDCi engine with 156PS and 380Nm of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is tuned for fuel economy while maintaining good overtaking ability.

Steve Kimber, commercial vehicles director, Ford of Britain, said: "The latest Ford Ranger is selling faster than the previous model. The new Wildtrak will take us deeper into the fiercely competitive pick-up market with a truck that really makes a statement."

2009 Civic Sedan review
The Civic’s base price of $15,505 compares favorably with its direct competitor, the Toyota Corolla ($15,350), the outgoing Mazda 3 i Sport ($15,360), and Hyundai Elantra GLS ($14,120). Fuel economy, ever important for buyers in this segment, is a frugal 26 city, 34 highway mpg. Notably, both the Ford Focus (24/35) and Chevrolet Cobalt XFE (25/37) achieve better highway mileage. The Cobalt is tops in its class for horsepower, too, with 155. The Civic’s 1.8L engine makes 140 hp.
